PayPal a confirmat că va achiziționa Curv, care este un provider de infrastructură în cloud, pentru securitatea activelor digitale.
„The acquisition of Curv is part of our effort to invest in the talent and technology to realize our vision for a more inclusive financial system”, a declarat Jose Fernandez da Ponte, vice-președintele PayPal.
Nu se cunoaște deocamdată cât a costat achiziția, însă se așteaptă ca aceasta să fie finalizată în prima jumătate a anului.
Vice-președintele PayPal a explicat de ce a ales să investească în Curv, care e o firmă fondată în Israel.
„During our conversations with Curv’s team, we’ve been impressed by their technical talent, entrepreneurial spirit and the thinking behind the technology they’ve built in the last few years. We’re excited to welcome the Curv team to PayPal”, a adăugat da Ponte.
Curv a semnat până în prezent parteneriate cu firme crypto din Europa, precum eToro și FalconX, ceea ce poate sugera că PayPal e dispus să-și exploreze interesul crypto și în afara granițelor Statelor Unite.
